Special Education Services
Special Education provides individualized instruction and support to meet the unique learning needs of students with disabilities. These services are available to eligible individuals from birth through age 21, with eligibility potentially extending through age 22 under California law.
Our goal is to ensure that every eligible student has access to the resources, services, and educational opportunities they need to learn, grow, and succeed.
Special Education services are provided at no cost to families and are tailored to each student's individual needs. Depending on those needs, services may be provided in classrooms, homes, hospitals, or other appropriate educational settings.
Special Education Eligibility
Under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), students may qualify for special education services under one or more of the following 13 disability categories:

Eligibility is determined through an individualized evaluation process. A student must meet applicable eligibility requirements and demonstrate a need for special education and related services. We are committed to working collaboratively with families, educators, and support staff to create inclusive learning environments where students with disabilities can reach their full potential.
